Life’s juggling act
I love the way James Christensen’s art combines whimsy with a message. I think if I recall correctly, this one is about the things we all juggle in life. I have to say that broccoli wouldn’t be the first thing that came to my mind when I thought of what I was juggling at present!
Certainly a cat and her pills would have to be present though! This evening’s medication was an extremely successful attempt. One of the best yet as not only was it super fast, but chilli didn’t seem too bothered by it tonight (after the initial glare I got, of course!)
I think that over the next few months I’m going to be juggling the competing needs of economy and life’s pleasures. My present situation demands some spending restrictions however I am conscious to continue to allow myself a little to enjoy. I’m not yet at the point of giving up some of my main loves – the tilba vintage cheese is still in the shopping cart and boy did I enjoy that this afternoon with some crackers.
I returned to Thienhuong’s wedding painting this week. It’s a good thing that the wedding is such a long time away, because my progress is tortoise like. Normally painting is a whenever I feel like it activity. There isn’t much in the painting itself to hold me up (not with a heat gun in the house). But there are a couple of things that you can’t heat gun and crackle paste and mediums is one of them. So patience is the order of the day. The first paste was better because I could just leave it for days. The second type of crackle medium I’m employing has the advantage of not being opaque, but I have to wait 3 hours, but no longer than 12… oh well, when I wake up at 3am as I have done most of this week, I can go slap on that second coat. The things I do for my friends!
