You have got to be kidding me! The weekly photo challenge is ‘Peaceful’. There is not much peaceful about my life right now. I’m houseminding with four cats in a one bedroom unit! Peaceful is not the first word which comes to mind!
Saffron and Licorice have been assigned the bedroom and Gesso and Pickle the living room. Then today, for the first time, Gesso and Saffron met face to face.
Peaceful.
Not.
Grrr. Hiss. Contempt on Saffron’s face. (Meanwhile Licorice, who was sitting next to Saffron sat as if nothing were going on).
Peaceful?
Well perhaps if you were Gesso. At least he could not hear Saffron’s grumbles.
Supervised introduction over, they have been separated once more. I suppose that counts as relative peace.

I see Gesso still has his pink fur.
Thanks for making me laugh just before bed. Looks like they got on ok. Not Cat just met Lucky the ancient Labrador who can barely walk but still thinks he’s a pup. Lucky wanted to be friends. Not Cat didn’t.
Yes, we will have to wait until the pink grows out.
Poor lucky. Maybe Not Cat will warm to him with time.

Kittens seem to be impervious to rejection from older cats up to a certain point, whilst cats may hiss but not attack the kitten’s curiosity.
I hope the process continues smoothly
Thanks Sophie. I gave them a small amount of supervised contact this evening and yes, the kitten copes best!
That is so adorable!!! Is that a pink cat?
Yes, he’s pink at the moment. Here’s the story of how he got that way: http://thescroobiouspip.com/2012/01/04/gessos-rite-of-passage/
It’s slowly fading but I think we will be waiting for it to grow up for it to go entirely.
Thank goodness the fur didn’t wind up flying otherwise you might have had to shatter the peace with the vacuum cleaner and a trip to the vet! Nice photo and great commentary

Peaceful, yes, definitely
I love your interpretation. Thanks for the share!
